OREANDA-NEWS. Staff of IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo division was awarded the Honorary Diploma of the All-Russian public organization of veterans "Russian Union of Veterans". According to the document signed by the chairman of the organization, a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Army General Mikhail Moiseev, the power engineers were awarded for outstanding contribution to the heroic and patriotic and moral education of the school and student youth, provision of social and material assistance to war veterans, home front workers, prisoners of Nazi concentration camps and perpetuation of the memory of those killed in the defense of the Fatherland.

The Tambov branch of IDGC of Centre pays great attention to projects aimed at perpetuating the memory of the Great Patriotic War. Only for the last 10 years Tambovenergo took part in the accomplishment of 34 war memorials and monuments located on the territory of the Tambov region. In 2011, with the support of the power company in the village of Kovylka in Kirsanovsky district the Memorial of Military Glory was erected.

In the year of the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory the Tambov branch of IDGC of Centre held 11 major military and patriotic events. This is celebration of and assistance to veterans, planting the "Walk of Remembrance" within the historical and cultural project of IDGC of Centre "The Story of a feat", a bike ride along military enterprises of Tambov, a motor rally "Tambov frontline - frontline Voronezh", the action "St. George’s Ribbon" and more . With the participation of employees of Tambovenergo memorial obelisks were installed in 2015 in the village of Podvigalovka in Kirsanovsky district and in the military cemetery of the city of Kirsanov. The granite slabs immortalized the names of the pilots who died during the war in the territory of the Tambov region and were previously buried in unmarked mass graves.

In 2016 the Tambov branch of IDGC of Centre intends to continue the good tradition to hold a number of patriotic activities aimed at preserving the memory of war veterans and home front workers.
