OREANDA-NEWS. April 27, 2016. Amazon is trying to make it easier for you to keep your kids entertained. FreeTime Unlimited -- a subscription-based service with content tailored to children from 3 to 8 years old -- now has over 13,000 videos, educational apps, games and books. And starting today, the service will include offerings appropriate to kids ages 9 to 12. To help you sort through it all, Amazon also announced the FreeTime Smart Filter, which you can tailor to your own child.

The new titles will include games like Monument Valley and Sonic the Hedgehog. Older kids will also have access to TV shows such as "Star Trek," "iCarly," and "Superman the Animated Series" and books like "The Witch of Blackbird Pond" and "Harry Potter."

All of this is available now for \\$3 a month if you're already a Prime member and \\$5 a month on its own. You'll need a Fire tablet or Kindle reader to access the content, and the price is per child. Amazon does offer a package discount for four customized profiles: \\$7 if you're a Prime member and \\$10 if you aren't. The new FreeTime Smart Filter will work only on fourth and fifth generation Fire tablets and the Fire Kids Edition.
