OREANDA-NEWS. Analytic agency "AUTOSTAT" conducted a survey of average prices for new cars in Russia in the first quarter of 2016. This study included 35 best-selling brands and the weighted average price for each brand was calculated based on the average prices that were recommended by the distributor and sales volume by each model (without breakdown on the modifications).

According to a study, in January - March of this year, the weighted average price of a new passenger car in Russia was 1.36 million rubles, which is more by 16% than in the same period of 2015. The car price went up most of all for Land Rover, the weighted average price of which grew by 65%, which is explained by the appearance of more expensive models in the market. It is followed by Lexus, Mazda and Audi - products of each brand have become more expensive by 27% in average. Barrier of 20% by the price increase was overcome also by Mitsubishi (+ 25%) and Subaru (+ 23%). 

Thirteen brands had the growth of weighted average price is in the range of 10 - 20%. Among them there are also domestic brands - UAZ and LADA (+ 17% and + 16%, respectively).

We should also note that it was recorded the decrease of weighted average prices at some brands, which is connected with changes of sale structure, in particular, at Ford (-6%), Chevrolet (-7%), Volkswagen (-8%).
