OREANDA-NEWS. The Telly Awards has named the CH2M Foundation a three-time Bronze winner in the 37th Annual Telly Awards for their video pieces Raising a Bridge and a Community in Rwanda and Pathway to Human Progress, Gasura-Gasabo Bridge, Rwanda.

“The Telly Awards has a mission to honor the very best in film and video,” said Linda Day, Executive Director of the Telly Awards. “CH2M’s accomplishment illustrates their creativity, skill, and dedication to their craft and serves as a testament to great film and video production.”

The two videos document the June 2015 construction, and resulting impact, of a 45-meter pedestrian suspension bridge in Gasura-Gasabo, Rwanda that provides 1,000 community members with safe access to schools, commercial markets and health clinics. The bridge was constructed in just 11 days by a volunteer team of CH2M engineers in partnership with the non-profit organization Bridges to Prosperity (B2P). Both the full-length 20-minute documentary, featuring team and community interviews, as well as the shorter 3-minute highlight video received honors in the online video social responsibility category. The shorter video was also honored in the online video charitable/not-for-profit category.

B2P is a one of the CH2M Foundation’s enterprise community partners aligned to its focus area of building sustainable communities through infrastructure. The Foundation funds the construction for two bridges annually. B2P focuses solely on footbridge construction and training. The community-driven projects build sustainable bridges that help provide basic access for community residents to healthcare, education and local markets.

“Watching the videos documenting our partnership with Bridges to Prosperity always ignites pride among our employees and in the power of the engineering profession to transform lives by laying the foundation for human progress,” says Elisa Speranza, board president of the CH2M Foundation. “We are honored that the Telly’s have recognized our team for telling this story.”

The Telly Awards was founded in 1979 and is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online commercials, video and films. A prestigious judging panel of over 500 accomplished industry professionals, each a member of The Silver Telly Council, judged the competition, upholding the historical standard of excellence that Telly represents. Approximately 25 percent of its 13,000 entries are chosen as Winners of the Bronze Telly.
