OREANDA-NEWS. Ministry of Industry sets the task to hold in 2016 the further slowdown in car production and to keep sales at the same level as the last year. This was announced at the final meeting of the Board of Ministry of Industry and Trade by the Minister Denis Manturov.

According to "Rossiyskaya Gazeta", features of tactics are now associated with the promotion and production of the domestic automobile industry for export. By 2025, a quarter of all vehicles assembled in Russia will be export-oriented, the minister announced the purpose. Today, the picture is reversed: the export falls, the power of the Russian car plants are not loaded.

Clarity on board was made by the Minister of Open Government Mikhail Abizov: he cited the example of the Volkswagen Group, which, like other major Western carmakers, moved to Russia its production and it has recently produced 160 thousand cars per year. This year the number of cars has decreased to 95 thousand, and no more than 5 thousand cars per a month go for export from the conveyor.

"Sale markets abroad are busy, the Russian plants of auto giant cannot withstand the internal corporate competition" – Mr. Abizov talked about the conversation with the leadership of Volkswagen for participants of board.

One of these competitors in the external markets - is India. The government of the country's subsidizes producers, as a result cars are sold cheaper by 300-500 euros. Michael Abizov believes that this fact of subsidies should be taken into account in the development of export policy and the Ministry of Finance – should not try to distance itself from the tax breaks. "If the incentives do not work, it means that we need different flexible support measures," - said the Minister.

According to Rosstat, the production of passenger cars declined by 27.7% in Russia in 2015 and it was 1.2 million units. Ministry of Industry and Trade expects that by the end of 2016 the decline will slow down up to 5-7%.
