OREANDA-NEWS. Russian dealers of Skoda sold 4706 cars in May - more by 24% than the year before. In the first five months of 2016 Skoda sales in the Russian market were 22,094 cars, which is less by 7% than in the same period of the last year. As a result, the share of the Czech brand was 4.0% against 3.7% a year earlier, according to AEB data.

Skoda best-seller in the Russian market in May is a compact liftback Rapid, whose sales rose by 27.2% to 2393 units. Second place went to Octavia - this model was chosen by 1797 customers (+ 30%).

As the head of Skoda brand in Russia, Lubomir Nyman, noted, it is demanded traditionally in Russia sedans, but, as can be seen in recent years, attitudes are changing, and liftback begin to enjoy greater demand than ever before. "Due to the functionality and comfort liftback find a positive response among customers, as evidenced by the sales figures.
