OREANDA-NEWS. The talented young Instagram photographer Annegien Schilling (16) is having her own exhibition at Amsterdam Central Station on 26 August. She acquired fame internationally for her surrealistic self-portraits on Instagram account Fetching_tigerss, which now has well over 721,000 followers. A selection of her best artworks will be exhibited in the Cuypers Hall of Amsterdam Central Station. At the end of the afternoon, Annegien will be present to explain her work and techniques. Entry to the exhibition is free.

ABN AMRO commissioned Annegien to make several new artworks specially for the cultural event ‘Uitmarkt’ in Amsterdam. These and her favourite artworks from her collection will be shown at the exhibit. "I think it’s really cool that my pictures are being exhibited," Annegien said. "Normally my followers and I only see a small photograph on a telephone screen. Now, everyone can see the photos in large format, which gives them a totally new dimension."

Scores of fans

Annegien, who lives in Utrecht, uses apps on an iPod Touch to take and adapt her photos. Since she was thirteen, she has been publishing her artworks on the Instagram-account Fetching_tigerss. The account quickly gained scores of loyal followers and Annegien is now one of the twenty most followed Instagram users in the Netherlands. Annegien was recently also the main character in the Dutch documentary Het meisje van 672k (“The 672k girl”)

Opening hours

The exhibition will be open to visitors from 11.00 am - 6.00 pm on 26 August. At 4.00 pm, Annegien Schilling will be present at Central Station to discuss her work.

Annegien Schilling will also be present at the cultural event ‘Uitmarkt’, on which she will report via ABN AMRO’s social media channels. At the opening of the cultural season at Museumplein in Amsterdam, the bank will have its own stage (Talent Stage), where talented artists will perform live.
