OREANDA-NEWS. The quarterly profit of the manufacturer of chips Intel Corp. decreased by 35 percent because of reduction of the prices for production, the company informed on Tuesday.

The net profit of the company for the third quarter of 2006 made $1,3 billion, or 22 cents per share, against $2 billion, or 34 cents per share in the last year. Without taking into account charges on re-structuring and the income of investments, the profit has made 21 cent per share.

Analysts expected that the net profit of Intel will make $1,02 billion, or 17 cents per share.

The proceeds of the company have decreased almost by 13 percent to $8,7 billion from $9,96 billion in the last year. Experts expected $8,61 billion.
