OREANDA-NEWS. Standard & Poor's Governance Services said today it raised its Russia national scale corporate governance score (CGS) on Dalsvyaz (OJSC), the leading fixed-line telecommunications operator in the far eastern region of Russia, to 'CGS-5.3' from 'CGS-5.1'. The global scale score remains unchanged at 'CGS-5'.

The upgrade on the Russia national scale reflects improvements in disclosure on back-tax claims presented to the company in February 2005.

Specifics of these claims, amounting to $25.6 million, are now available on the company's Web site.
