OREANDA-NEWS. The Government of the Tyumen region today announced that the West-Siberian office of the State Committee for Reserves had considered and confirmed reserves for seven new oil deposits discovered in the Uvat region.

Aggregate oil resources in the south of Tyumen now exceed 1 billion tonnes.

Five of these new deposits, totalling approximately 32 million tonnes, were discovered at the licence sites of TNK-BP subsidiaries. The 1 billionth tonne of crude oil was discovered by OOO TNK-Uvat at the Kosukhinskoye deposit, called after the first president of the Tyumen Oil and Gas University.

The state committee also approved calculations of oil in place for the Urnenskoye and Ust-Tegusskoye deposits in Uvat which enables TNK-BP to start their development.
