OREANDA-NEWS. Today the Gazprom Headquarters has hosted a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Jeroen Van Der Veer, Chief Executive of the Royal Dutch/Shell Group of Companies.

The parties discussed Shell’s proposals stipulating Gazprom’s joining the Sakhalin-2 project.

Shell Sakhalin Holdings, a Royal Dutch/Shell subsidiary, owns a 55% stake in Sakhalin Energy – operator of the Sakhalin-2 project, which is also being implemented by Mitsui Sakhalin Holdings (25%) and Diamond Gas Sakhalin (20%), a Mitsubishi outlet.

In addition, the project includes the development of the Piltun-Astokhskoye (to a larger extent) oil and Lunskoye (to a larger extent) gas fields with some 150 million tons of oil and over 500 billion cubic meters of gas in combined commercial reserves.
