OREANDA-NEWS. A new terminal for liquid chemicals handling was opened in the port of Sillamae, North-East of Estonia. Ain Kiviorg, the Mayor of Sillamae, solemnly handed the acceptance certificate and the official operating permit over to Viacheslav Spirin, Director of TankChem, a subsidiary of EuroChem, the largest Russian producer of mineral fertilizers.

The construction of the state-of-the-art multipurpose terminal took just one year, a record short time. EuroChem invested nearly ?14m in the development of this Baltic Sea project, of which ?1.2m were spent to environmental safety issues.

The Sillamae terminal will permit EuroChem to optimize transport costs and promote sales expansion at Northern Europe and Southern America.
