OREANDA-NEWS. According to recent reports, RAO UES power plants generated 66 billion kWh of electricity in January 2007. For the sake of comparison, they generated 70,3 billion kWh in January 2006, and 64,3 billion kWh in January 2005.
 
During the fist month of the year, energy consumption across Russia amounted to 92,3 billion kWh, down 3,8% compared to the same period of 2006.

Due to the favourable hydrological situation in the reservoirs of the Volga-Kama chain of HPPs, part of the load was shifted from TPPs to HPPs. As a result, the output of HPPs in January grew 19,1 percent, while the output of TPPs fell 9,5 percent year on year.
