OREANDA-NEWS. On March 13, 2007, Nizhnekamsk CHP of JSC "Tatenergo" has been awarded the Diploma and the medal of Laureate of competition "Golden medal "European quality" in nomination of "Best 100 Organizations of Russia. Ecology and environmental management". The competition was organized by International Academy of Quality and Marketing sponsored by the Council of Federation of RF and Commerce and Industry Chamber of Russia, State Duma of Federal Meeting of RF, Ministry of Natural Resources of RF, General Prosecutor’s Office, leading universities, Club of Ecology of Russia, professional alliances and other parties.

Competition has to promote the environmental awareness o entrepreneurs, formation of public image of environmental and social responsibility in the area of nature protection and minimization of negative impact upon environment. The awarding of the 100 best companies of Russia was held at The All- Russia conference "Ecology and Production. Prospects of Development of Economical Tools of Environment Protection ", held recently in St. Petersburg. This is the second Golden medal "European Quality" at Nizhnekamsk CHP awarded for results in competitions, organized by International Academy of Quality and Marketing. Nizhnekamsk CHP’s focus is the organization of nature conservation and efficient ecological management. The plant, the biggest and unique object of domestic thermal industry is located on the territory where are located many big companies of oil processing, petrol oil industry, tire industry, building construction, power engineering.

2001 through 2006 the gross polluting emissions in the air at Nizhnekamsk CHP reduced by 9,732 tons; discharge of sewage waters reduced by 4,7 m. tons; volumes of wastes formation reduced by 1,367 tons. The volume of production at Nizhnekamsk CHP increase annually.In 2006 the costs for implementing the nature conservation actions at Nizhnekamsk CHP were 6 m. 380 th. rubles. Environmental effect from realization of nature conservation actions was 24,5 m. rubles, the figure exceeds the 2005-year figure. The prevented ecological damage was 8,9 m.
