OREANDA-NEWS. Rostelecom, Russia’s national long-distance operator, and Interoute, owner and operator of Europe’s most extensive network, have partnered to substantially expand Russia’s telecoms presence throughout Europe. The strategic relationship was signed during CeBIT in Hannover.

Russia’s booming economy is spurring dramatic surge in bandwidth demand. The expansion by doubling the capacity on the dedicated fiber-optic line provided by Interoute to connect Rostelecom’s POPs in Frankfurt, Stockholm and London will enable the Company not only to significantly increase the volumes of international traffic on its network, but also to enhance cooperation with operators, Internet providers and other telecommunications service providers.

The SNCP collapsed dual mode to be implemented will ensure a higher reliability in routing leading to a better quality of service.  The availability of channels is to be 99.99%.
