OREANDA-NEWS. On March 28, 2007 the Federal Service for Ecological, Technological and Nuclear Control (Rostekhnadzor) has finished a nuclear and radiation safety inspection at Mayak production association (Ozersk, Chelyabinsk region) and has detected insignificant violations, reported the press-centre of  Rostekhnadzor. This time Rostekhnadzor detected much fewer violations than it did in 2005. All the deficiencies revealed in 2005 have already been removed. The relevant plan of action has been coordinated with the head of Rostekhnadzor Konstantin Pulikovsky. Rostekhnadzor has found out that Mayak has done big work to ensure the physical protection of its radioactive materials.
Today, Pulikovsky inspected Mayak in the framework of his business visit to Ural region.

The control of the environment in the sanitary protection and observation zones is exercised in line with the radiation and chemical control program for 2004-2008. The program specifies the scale, periodicity and geography of radiation control. The level of the population’s irradiation does not exceed 45% of the admissible limit.
