OREANDA-NEWS. Implementing automated system of registered postal items delivery control will allow to reduce expenses for international post processing and improve postal service quality as a whole, reported the press-centre of  Russian Post. As said A. Kuzmin, FSUE Russian Post Acting Deputy Director General in his report at the international seminar "Quality and efficiency of postal network" for the specialists of communication administrations of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications held 16-20 April in Kiev (Ukraine). The decision on information exchange concerning registered postal items (IRPI) between RCC countries-members was adopted at the joint session of RCC in November 2006 in Minsk (Belorussia).


Implementation of IRPI delivery control system helped to prepare regulatory documents and work at technical moments operatively. Russian Post managerial staff decided to give the enterprise IT-resources to arrange information exchange system allowed for setting exchange process of text data on international registered items between Ukraine, Belorussia and Russia by April 2007. Currently, post is monitoring the level of preparedness between postal operators of other RCC countries-members to perform such operations. As the countries are ready they will join information exchange system that will be another step to unification and integration of information technologies and improvement international services quality at post. Along with intermediate work results on implementation of automated system of registered postal items delivery control the participants of the seminar discussed the offers and reports of the RCC members devoted to XXIV Congress of UPU which will be held in August 2008 in Nairobi (Kenya) and one devoted to Regional Round-Table on Postal Services Development planned to be held 21 June in Saint-Petersburg within the framework of International Forum "Pochtovaya Troyka".
