OREANDA-NEWS. The 6th Annual Conference of the International Competition Network (ICN) will start its work on 30th May 2007 in Moscow. It will be the first significant international competition event held in Russia, attended by the executives and members of competition authorities of over 100 countries as well as of international organizations, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia. The International Competition Network (ICN) is an association of the antimonopoly authorities from various countries throughout the world. The ICN annual conferences provide a platform for thorough discussions of the role of competition legislation in fostering economic growth and development; experience in antimonopoly regulation; and current issues and ways of improving enforcement efficiency. Previously, ICN conferences took place in Naples, Italy (2002), Merida, Mexico (2003), Seoul, Korea (2004), Bonn, Germany (2005), and Cape Town, South Africa (2006).


The venue takes place in the Radisson SAS Slavaynskaya hotel at 9 a.m. A press conference with Igor Artemyev, the Head of the Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service, Sheridan Scott, the Chairman of the International Competition Network, and Neelie Kroes, the Commissioner on Competition, of the European Commission, for the accredited media representatives is scheduled at 10.30.
