OREANDA-NEWS. May 4, 2007. On the initiative of the International Labor Organization and the Trade Unions the World Day for Health and Safety at Work is celebrated on April 28. In 2007 it is held under the  slogan of “Safe and healthy work places – let’s make good work a reality”. This slogan benefits “The Year of Health and Safety at Work” slogan announced by JSC “IDGC of Center and North Caucasus”.

In the regional network companies of the “IDGC of Center and North Caucasus” service area the improvement of working conditions and safety practices are being constantly implemented.

Compared to the previous year, the expenses for such purposes have increased by 59% in JSC “IDGC of Center and North Caucasus”. Over 523,5 mln rubles were spent on the improvement of working conditions in 2006, and in 2007 the expenses will reach 550 mln rubles.

The main targets set for 2007 include complete replacement of obsolete safety facilities, providing personnel with electric shock-proof kit, etc.    

In all regional network companies in the JSC ‘IDGC of Center and North Caucasus” service area programs on improving labor protection conditions have been developed. In JSC “IDG of Center and North Caucasus” unified information feedback has been set up through the management accounting portal, the final switch to a single labor protection accounting system has been achieved as well as new documentation sets for implementing a new, labor protection management system. The results are summed up at conference meetings quarterly.
  
A compulsory analysis system introduced by the technical inspection department of JSC “IDGC of Center and North Caucasus” has been approved to check up on the state of affairs in labor protection during every scheduled inspection.
In the framework of the announced year of labor protection and safety precautions RNC personnel is being constantly trained. Professional competitions help to advance the skills in  setting up a safe technological environment.

The labor protection management system in “IDGC of Center and North Caucasus” will be brought into compliance with the requirements of the OHSAS 18001 international management system of health and safety at work as part of the announced year of labor protection and safety precautions. JSC “Tverenergo” has been selected as a pilot program site.
