OREANDA-NEWS. On May 03, 2007 the medical insurance company Gazprommedstrakh, part of the SOGAZ Insurance Group, has been declared the winner of an open tender held to select a medical insurance organisation that can provide compulsory medical insurance (CMI) to unemployed and senior citizens in the Republic of Bashkortostan, reported the press-centre of SOGAZ. In accordance with the results of the tender, Gazprommedstrakh will arrange insurance policies for 182 thousand unemployed and senior citizens living in the towns of Salavat, Ishimbai, and in four districts in the Republic, namely the Ishimbai, Sterlibashev, Ufa and Fedorov districts.

The new deal brings the total number of people insured by the company as part of the CMI scheme in Bashkortostan to over 200 thousand policyholders. Founded on 1st April 1998, the OJSC Gazprommedstrakh specialises in the implementation of the Compulsory Medical Insurance (CMI) program. A major medical insurance company in Russia, Gazprommedstrakh has insured over 8,8 million people. One of the many advantages is a developed regional network, with 275 subdivisions located in more than 46 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. In 2006, the company’s CMI revenue amounted to 15,506 million rubles; according to this figure, Gazprommedstrakh is rated third in the ranking for medical insurance companies and seventh in the general ranking for insurance companies. The company’s paid-in authorized capital is 102,5 million rubles.
