OREANDA-NEWS. On May 17, 2007 the Gazprom Regional Policy Commission has convened on a session chaired by Valery Golubev, Head of the Commission and Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, reported the press-centre of  Gazprom. The Commission examined the issues relevant to cooperation in the gas sector between Gazprom’s subsidiaries and legislative & executive authorities of the Belgorod and Samara Oblasts.

The session specified that the Belgorod and Samara Oblasts gasification levels are at nearly 97 per cent and 94 per cent, respectively. The regional gasification levels are the highest in Russia. Therefore, the regional consumers do not have the indebtedness to Gazprom for current gas supplies. Additionally, the program for debt payment over last years is under implementation. The participants underscored that the regional authorities actively participate in financing the gasification activities allocating funds, particularly to connect final consumers to the constructed gas pipelines. The Regional Policy Commission recommended the core business units to take into account the proposals of the Company’s subsidiaries and organizations to improve federal legislation on taxation and property related issues.

Gazprom signed the Agreement of cooperation with the Belgorod Oblast authorities in June 2001 and with the Samara Oblast authorities in September 1998.
In 2006 Gazprom supplied nearly 6 bcm, 16 bcm to the Belgorod and Samara Oblasts, respectively. The same amount is slated for this year.
