OREANDA-NEWS. At the Gazprom Headquarters a meeting on utilization of electrically driven gas pumping units (GPUs) at the Portovaya compressor station for the Grazovets-Vyborg gas pipeline under construction was held.

The meeting examined a conceptual project developed by Giprosetsgaz for electrically driven GPU utilization at the Portovaya based on the technical commercial proposals of ABB (Norway) and Convertim (France).

It is planned to construct a dc power transmission cable line from the Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant via the Gulf of Finland seabed aimed at energy supply to the Portovaya.

The Portovaya compressor station will be situated at the Russian Baltic Sea coast at the Portovaya bay near the town of Vyborg in the Leningrad Oblast. The compressor station will be a part of the Gryazovets-Vyborg gas pipeline under construction aimed at gas supply via the Nord Stream gas pipeline.
