OREANDA-NEWS. On July 05, 2007 the first Russian DC passenger locomotive designated EP2K-001 and manufactured by Kolomensky Zavod (KZ, a CJSC Transmashholding member) was sent to the VNIIJT test range in Sherbinka for integrity and durance tests, reported the press-centre of Transmashholding.

The integrity and durance tests are a part of the EP2K acceptance tests (combined with certification tests).

As of now, the second electric locomotive (EP2K-002) is undergoing adjustment tests in Sherbinka to be followed by a 5,000 km exploitation run.

The EP2K tests are planned to be completed in the third quarter of 2007.
