OREANDA-NEWS. On July 11-12, 2007 a Sci and Tech Subgroup meeting was held under the Agreement of cooperation between Gazprom and Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS), reported the press-centre of Gazprom.

On July 10, at the VNIIGAZ Headquarters the parties discussed schedule plans on executing the Sci and Tech Cooperation Program provisions between Gazprom and Kogas during 2007-2008. From the Russian side attending the meeting were specialists of Gazprom, Gazkom, Giprospetsgaz, VNIIGAZ, Promgaz and Podzemgazprom.

A Kogas delegation visited the Gazprom Central Industrial-Dispatching Department, VNIIGAZ Mathematical Modeling & 3D Visualization Center and the science & technical library aimed at becoming familiar with new information technologies applied for scientific research.

On July 11, at the Gazprom Headquarters the parties summed up the results of the Sci and Tech Cooperation Subgroup meeting and signed a Joint Protocol.

The Sci and Tech Cooperation Program between Gazprom and Kogas over 2007 to 2008 was approved by Alexander Ananenkov, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Lee Byung-Ho, Senior Executive Vice President of KOGAS.

The document stipulates joint projects and consultations in the LNG production technologies, storage, transportation and usage sector, technical and economic assessment to organize production of dimethyl ether in small gas fields in Eastern Russia as well as integrated data collection and analysis in the interest of oil and gas industries of Russia and South Korea.
