OREANDA-NEWS. System Capital Management was one of the 700 leading global businesses which attended the United Nations Global Compact Summit held in Geneva, reported the press-centre of SCM.

The Summit, which takes place every two years, was the largest and most significant event on the topic of leadership and corporate social responsibility to be held.

The Summit was chaired by the new UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and featured an international roster of 1000 business leaders, government ministers, and heads of civil society.

The event was hosted by the United Nations from 5-6 July at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland and was the largest ever organized by the UN on the subject of corporate citizenship.

System Capital Management is one of the founder-members of the United Nations Global Compact in Ukraine and was represented at the Summit by Jock Mendoza-Wilson, the company’s Director of International and Investor Relations. Commenting on the event, Mr Mendoza-Wilson said: “This summit brought together the global leaders on corporate social responsibility and gave them the opportunity to share experiences and examples of global best practices in CSR. It was good see Ukrainian businesses taking part for the first time in this global event and this shows how quickly activity in this area is developing in the country.”
