OREANDA-NEWS. On July 13, 2007 CJSC Transmashholding sent in advance six 81-714.5P (type 81-541) metro cars manufactured by Metrowagonmash (Mitishi, the plant is a Transmashholding member) to the state unitary enterprise Petersburg Metro, reported the press-centre of Transmashholding.

The metro cars were shipped under the contract concluded on February 5, 2007. The contract implies the shipment of 12 intermediate six 81-714.5P (type 81-541) metro cars by October, 2007. The batch sent from Mitishi last week was scheduled for August. The next shipment to St.-Petersburg is planned for September, 2007.

The state unitary enterprise Petersburg Metro is a new Transmashholding partner. For the first time the metro cars manufactured by Metrowagonmash were shipped to the northern capital in 2006. The shipment consisted in 20 intermediate 81-714.5P cars.
 
The 81-714.5P cars’ technical specifications:
The 81-714.5P is an intermediate motor car without a driver’s cab. The series cars are designed for multiple unit operation and can be used as part of a train with up to eight cars.

The body is made of low carbon steel and has an all-welded frame structure. The body siding is made of corrugated steel plates for better rigidity. The body has advanced heat and noise insulation.

The car bogies are two-axial, with a frame suspension of the tractive electric engines and pivotal suspension of reduction gears. The H-shape bogie frame is all-welded and features a two stage spring suspension. The primary suspension system has spiral helical spring sets. The secondary suspension system has hydraulic absorbers for horizontal and vertical vibration.
