OREANDA-NEWS. On July 03, 2007 the meeting between the Minister of Interior of the Russian Federation Mr. Rashid Nurgaliev and the Head of Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation (FAS Russia) Mr. Igor Artemiev took place, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The meeting was devoted to the issues of interaction between the Ministry of Interior and the FAS Russia in the sphere of antimonopoly legislation observance.

During the meeting the Heads of two Authorities signed the Protocol of Interaction that provides for strengthening of the joint control over the observance of the antimonopoly legislation.

To remind, the Agreement between two Authorities on joint activities on combating infringements of the antimonopoly legislation was signed in 2004. At present, the special division exists within the structure of the Ministry of Interior, its major task is revealing and suppression of crimes in the sphere of the antimonopoly legislation. According to Mr. Artemiev' opinion, the Protocol signed today creates the basis for the further effective cooperation between the Authorities in the field of suppression of restrictions of competition.

The Protocol of Interaction also provides for conducting joint preventive operative actions and elaboration of common techniques of professional training.
