OREANDA-NEWS. On July 23, 2007 as it was said by Alexander Lukashenko, the President of the Republic of Belarus during the ceremony of commissioning of pipe rolling mill at Byelorussian Steel Works, the putting in operation of seamless pipes production in Belarus will decrease and for some items will exclude entirely the dependence of Belarus on importation of this type of products, reported the press-centre of Byelorussian Steel Works.

“Organization of seamless pipes production is of a great importance for Belarus. It is planned to produce annually up to 250 thousand tons of hot-rolled seamless pipes for different applications from pipes used in municipal service to line pipes. It will provide an opportunity to decrease import and for some items will exclude entirely the dependence on importation of this type of products” – emphasized the President. “It should be remembered that profitability of this product much higher than semi-finished products.”

Alexander Lukashenko added that new production is staffed in full and about 500 working places were arranged additionally. The personnel were trained at the plants in Russia, Ukraine, Germany, Italy and China.

Byelorussian machine tool plants took an active part in engineering, manufacturing and assembling of the pipe production facilities.

The specialists of “Gomelpromstroy” and “Zhlobinmetallurgstroy” companies have contributed significantly in construction of pipe rolling mill as well.
