OREANDA-NEWS. On July 23, 2007 Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant (LSE: CHZN, RTS: CHZN), Russia’s largest producer of zinc and zinc alloys, has passed a regular certification audit of its integrated management system, reported the press-centre of Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant.

The audit was carried out by the internationally recognized independent certification organization Bureau Veritas Certification. CZP was certified to be in conformity with the international standards of occupational health and safety OHSAS-18001:1999, with quality management standards ISO 9001-2000 and with environmental management standards ISO 14001-2004.

OHSAS 18001 is an Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) standard for health and safety management systems intended to manage occupational health and safety risks, and to increase the effectiveness of such management systems.

CZP already has a certificate of conformity with the international ISO 9001-2000 standard from TUV NORD CERT (Germany), issued in 2005, and in 2006 received two certificates from BVQI - on implementation of an integrated management system, corresponding to requirements of international standards ISO 9001-2000 and ISO 14001-2004.
