OREANDA-NEWS. On July 22 was a date to celebrate incorporation of the NOVOGOR-Prikamye company. On this day in 2003, the Perm region government took a decision to lease Perm water utilities to a private company.

Over the four years of its operation the company achieved impressive results and demonstrated that, compared to government or municipal bodies, a private company can be more efficient in the communal utility service domain. Upon its inception NOVOGOR resumed reconstruction of grid facilities, put to accounts and started restoration of hundreds of miles of waterpipe-, sewage- powerline- and heat supply networks, previously neglected and unaccounted for.

In 2006 alone, capital investments in the infrastructure of the Perm water utilities amounted to 487 mln rubles, over 50 km of worn-out pipelines replaced. Incident rates for grids dropped significantly, water loss is less by some 10-15% with each year to come. Large-scale works were launched to reconstruct sewage bio-treatment facilities in Perm, with 2-years investments in the project running above 150 mln rubles.

The Company is no less efficient in its social operations. In 2006, wages of Perm subsidiary employees grew by 28%, those of Berezniaky subsidiary - by 11%. The Company set up the Council of Veterans and Council of Young Experts provided with respective funding, it contributes funds to organize sport and recreation events, as well as medical servicing of its employees. The company operates in close cooperation with government and environmental bodies, media outlets; it releases reports on social and environmental responsibility.

At the beginning of the current year, the IES Holding acquired LLC NOVOGOR-Prikamye, a major regional company that provides communal utility services in Perm and Berezniaky (Perm region). NOVOGOR-Prikamie operations are directed by OJSC Russian Utilities Systems. Within 10-12 years the company plans to enhance its infrastructure to the level now in place in European cities.
