OREANDA-NEWS. Oleg Tony, Vice President of Russian Railways, and Anatoliy Levchenko, head of Kuybyshev Railways, met with Murtazoy Rahimov, the President of the Republic of Bashkortostan, and discussed future plans and areas for cooperation.

The delegations visited a number of facilities which will be reconstructed as part of the 450th anniversary celebrations of Bashkortostan becoming part of Russia.

The leaders of Russian Railways and Bashkortostan were satisfied with progress on the construction of the passenger facilities at the station in Bashkortostan’s capital Ufa.

The construction of the railway station at Ufa is being financed jointly by Russian Railways and Bashkortostan.

Among the passenger facilities to be opened on the 450th anniversary are the first phase the railway station at Ufa and the servicing point for passenger rail cars at Chishmy station.

The station will be decorated by a glazed steel cupola at a height of 35 meters and circumference of nearly 100 meters.

The facade of the building will be finished with aluminum plates depicting national motifs and elements, and the glazed walls with tinted, reflective double glazing.
