OREANDA-NEWS. July 31, 2007. The Fund for the Resettlement of Muslumovo reports that the construction of houses in Novomuslumovo (Cheliabinsk region) has been carried out according to the schedule since early June. On July 30 25 families made ownership contracts.

The old houses in Muslumovo, a village that suffered from a Soviet-time defense project and is subject to resettlement, are being demolished. 104 houses have already been pulled down with the tenants having received compensation and moved to new areas.

As was reported earlier, the Federal Agency for Nuclear Energy and the Government of Cheliabinsk region have offered the residents of Muslumovo 1,000,000 RUR compensation apiece and a choice: either to move to other areas and buy houses there or to get new comfortable housing in Novomuslumovo.

As of today, 530 of 741 households have made their choice: 198 have decided to move to Novomuslumovo, 204 to take the compensation. 168 of them have already received the money.
