OREANDA-NEWS. The 7th international contest of children’s art “We are Children of Atom City” is over. This year it was conducted in Sosnovy Bor (Leningrad region). Children from Kurchatov, the satellite city of Kursk NPP, were also there. Even more, they are among the winners: Anastasia and Gleb Gadlevskys won in the nomination “About NPP and Myself” for their research project “The Use of Ionizing Radiation.” Special awards were presented to Maria Sergiyenko for poem “Letter to Editor,” Irina Mikhaleva for essay “Look from the Orbite,” Kristina Berezutskaya for a batik work and the youngest contestant, 6-year-old Ania Simagutina for a beadwork.

The awarding ceremony took place at Sosnovy Bor Art Museum on July 21. It was a nice surprise for the Kurchatov children to be able to be there. The management of Kursk NPP paid their trip to Sosnovy Bor. The children attended master-classes on journalism and applied arts, went sightseeing around St.Petersburg and Tsarskoye Selo, visited the Hermitage and Catherine’s Palace. All the participant-works were exhibited at Sosnovy Bor Art Museum. The best 50 works will be shown all over Russia.
