OREANDA-NEWS. August 3, 2007. Gennadi Onishchenko, head of Rospotrebnadzor, and Vladimir Yakunin, President of Russian Railways, have signed an agreement to consolidate their joint efforts to ensure sanitary and epidemiological provision and to protect the rights of users of rail facilities.

This is the first such agreement between Rospotrebnadzor and Russian Railways.

The agreement aims to improve preventive measures against infectious diseases and poisoning among rail passengers and workers, to reduce the level industrial sick days and to take other preventive and counter-epidemic measures.

In addition, the two sides intend to collaborate on infectious diseases and goods spread by international passenger and freight rail transport and to deal with the health aspects of emergency situations on rail transport.
