OREANDA-NEWS. August 15, 2007. “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” INC put into service an in-house power supplier – cogeneration gas-turbine unit GTU-75.

This state-of-the-art power plant with a combined cycle to produce electric power and steam, integrated into a Central Heat and Power Plant flow chart, will cover 25% of NKNK needs in electric power and 10% - in heat energy. The anticipated saving rate will amount to over RUR 437m.

TR President underlined the importance of such facilities for the chemical industry advancement.

General Director of “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” INC spoke of the Energy-Saving Program being implemented in the Company, of which GTU-75 was an essential element. He stated that, in the situation of power engineering reforms, utilities price rise, an effective utilization of energy and other material resources remained an indispensable internal reserve enabling to ensure a sizable growth not only of in-house commodities but of a gross regional product as well. We will exert every effort for these indicators to keep to the highest level, - stressed V. Busygin. To this end, NKNK is now implementing a second phase of the Central Heat and Power Plant upgrade program, which contemplates for construction of a SGU-280 Unit that will enable a saving rate of RUR 1,120m. 
After the topping-out ceremony, the TR President and his retinue visited a Refinery construction site of “TANECO” JSC, second halobutyl rubber finishing line of “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” INC and Bitumen Unit of “TAIF-NK” JSC.
