In Jan-Aug 2007 the plant fulfilled 99.3% of the production plan – 107mln KWh less than planned.

Such statistics were reported during an operational conference of the plant’s executives on Aug 20.

Presently, LNPP has two operating units (1st and 4th), the 2nd unit is being overhauled and modernized.

The 3rd unit is also being modernized.

While summing up the results of the meeting, the deputy director general of Rosenergoatom-the director of Leningrad NPP Valery Lebedev said:

“Today, Aug 20, the nuclear power plants of Rosenergoatom Concern are operating 24 units and 36 turbine generators, which are working at a total capacity of 17.7 GW against planned 16.4 GW. Since the beginning of this year the plants have generated a total of 98.7bln KWh.

No single incident was registered at the REA NPPs last week, but there were power transmission line failures at Kola and Kursk NPP. More specifically, the failure at Kola NPP resulted in 1000 MW drop in capacity.”

Lebedev pointed out the importance of preparing the personnel of the plant for the complex emergency response exercises to be conducted at LNPP on Sept 19–21 2007.
