OREANDA-NEWS. On August 21, 2007 Metrowagonmash (Mytishchi, the Moscow Region) sent six 81-714.5P (type 81-541) metro cars to the Petersburg Metro state unitary enterprise, reported the press-centre of CJSC Transmashholding. 

The metro cars sent to St Petersburg were the final batch to be shipped under the agreement concluded on 5 February 2007. The plant made a commitment to manufacture and ship 12 intermediate cars to the consumer, and the final shipment was scheduled for September 2007.

The first shipment of metro cars manufactured by Metrowagonmash was performed in 2006, after a long break. The batch consisted of 20 intermediate cars designated 81-714.5P (type 81-541).

The 81-714.5P metro cars’ technical features
The 81-714.5P is an intermediate motor car without a driver’s cab. The series cars are designed for multiple-unit operation and can be used in MUs with up to eight cars.

The car body is made of low-carbon steel and has an all-welded support frame. The outer coat is made of riffled steel plates for better rigidness. The car body has improved heat and sound insulation.

The car bogies are two-axial with frame suspension of electric tractive motors and pivotal suspension of reduction gears. The all-welded H-shaped frame has a two-stage spring suspension. The first-stage suspension is made of spiral coiled springs’ sets. The second-stage swing suspension is also made of spiral coiled springs. The second-stage suspension is fitted with hydraulic shock absorbers for vertical and lateral oscillation.
