OREANDA-NEWS. September 3, 2007.  According to the results of an open bidding for the project related to the creation of 800-MW replacement capacity on the base of two CCGT-400 at Shaturskaya TPP Subsidiary of Generation Company Four of the Wholesale Power Market (OGK-4), a Consortium of General Electric International Inc., USA, and Gama Guk Sistemleri Muhendislik ve Taahhut A.S., Turkey, has been approved as the General Contractor. With the preferred bidder OGK-4 will enter into the General Contractor Agreement for design, delivery of equipment and materials, turnkey construction, and commissioning of two 400-MW single-shaft combined-cycle gas turbines.

According to the Bidding Committee's opinion, the Consortium of General Electric and Gama offered the best technical and economic conditions for the Project's implementation. In addition, the Consortium has sufficient experience in turnkey construction, including design and commissioning of 400-MW CCGTs, including single-shaft ones. Earlier, the Consortium of General Electric and Gama was recognized as a preferred bidder and General Contractor for the construction of a CCGT-400 for Shaturskaya TPP Subsidiary of OGK-4. In July 2007, the Company entered into the General Contractor Agreement for the turnkey construction of CCGT-400 at Shaturskaya TPP.   

The bidding for the General Contractor selection for the project involving the construction of two CCGT-400’s at Shaturskaya TPP was announced in December 2006 and held on the B2B-Energo online trading floor (Informational, analytical, trading and operational system "Market of products, services and technologies for power industry").

The investment project for the creation of 800-MW replacement capacity on the base of CCGTs for Shaturskaya TPP Subsidiary of OGK-4 is on the list of high priority sites for commissioning of generating facilities in the Unified Energy System of Russia. The commissioning of CCGT-400’s is scheduled for 4Q09. The Project's estimated cost is more than 30 billion rubles.
