OREANDA-NEWS. September 01, 2007. In the near future the Government will approve the necessary documents for the construction of the Crimea - Caucasus Bridge crossing, Prime Minister said at a ceremony of launching a section of the Kharkiv-Simferopol-Alushta-Yalta motor road on Saturday, reported the Official website http://www.kmu.gov.ua.

"The construction of this bridge crossing will give an impetus to the development of eastern territories of Crimea and the project's feasibility study will be tackled soon," the Premier said.

According to Viktor Yanukovych, the length of the bridge crossing will be 4,5km and the width 22 m and 50 m height above sea altitude. The crossing might provide for two-way automobile, pedestrian and railway traffic, it can also be used for building oil and gas pipelines, the PM said.

The PM admitted that a preliminary protocol on the bridge crossing construction might be signed next week already.
