OREANDA-NEWS. September 4, 2007. The Bank of Moscow provides support to sports activities as one of the key directions of its social policy. In particular, from 1999 to 2005 the Bank has been rendering sponsor assistance to the Cup of Major International Horseracing Competition, in 2006 the Bank of Moscow provided support to the “Dynamo” men’s basketball club. In addition, the Bank sponsors several tennis schools in various regions of Russia, such as the “Adler Tennis Academy” for children and youth, the “Tolyatti Tennis Center” as well as the regional public organization “Tennis Federation of Penzenskaya Oblast” that were enjoying the Bank’s support in 2006.

It is already a tradition for the Bank of Moscow to sponsor the “Kremlin Cup”, the first professional competition held at indoor courts and combing both men’s and women’s games. The women’s Tier 1 Kremlin Cup contest is among ten largest rivalries included in the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour, while men’s games belong to the prestigious "International Series" АТР .

The “Kremlin Cup - 2007” will be held in the Olympic Sports Center from October, 6 to October, 14. The total prize fund in this year will amount to USD 2.34 million, including USD 1.34 million for women’s competition. A winner of women’s singles final will receive USD 196.9  thousand. Men will struggle for a prize fund of USD 1 million. A winner of men’s singles final will receive USD 142 thousand.

The Bank of Moscow has been sponsoring the “Kremlin Cup” since 1998. In 2003, the Bank became its General Partner.

At the eve of the competition, the Bank of Moscow arranged a contest for young painters “I’m Drawing Tennis” the results of which will be announced very soon. Authors of the best two works will be awarded a tour to the “Kremlin Cup” in the company of one adult person. In 2006, the winners of the contest were Xenia Chernenko from Novokuznetzk (the Kemerovo Oblast), Elena Vorobiyova from Stavropol and Olga Kozlova from Kolomna (the Moscow Oblast). The girls visited Moscow and attended the “Kremlin Cup”. All travel costs were borne by the Bank of Moscow.

It should be noted that, as part of the competition, the Bank of Moscow intends to award 30 participants more who will receive tennis-balls, rackets, baseball caps and other gifts bearing symbols of the Bank of Moscow and autographs of famous tennis-players.
