OREANDA-NEWS. Gas extraction results in Russia in January-August 2007 dropped 0.9% to 429.11 bln cu m as compared to similar period of 2006, reports Veles Capital, an investment company with reference to RF’s ministry for industry and energy. Gazprom gas extraction share in the total amount rose to 84.4% vs. 83.9% as of 2006, reaching 362.17 bln cu m. Gazprom reduced gas export to the near foreign and Baltic countries by 14% to 93.36 bln cu m, the CIS countries export dropped by 7.3% to 25.88 bln cu m. The gas deliveries to domestic market were reduced by 2.4% to 25 bln cu m, while shipments to the UES rose by 2% to 102 bln cu m. The main reason of gas extraction decrease is reduced demand for 'blue fuel' during 1Q, when demand of energy carriers was lower than in 2006, due to relatively warm winter over Central Russia and European countries.
