OREANDA-NEWS. October 5, 2007. Russian Railways has announced its results for the first three quarters of 2007, which saw the Company transport over 996 million tonnes of freight, 24.7 million tonnes or 2.5% more than in the same period last year.

High-revenue freight segments increased, rising by 3.5%, including cars (up by over 32%), grain, which rose by more than 23%, metal goods, up by over 18%, and ferrous metals, which saw an increase of 5%.

In September 2007, Russia’s railways loaded over 112.1 million tonnes, 270,000 tonnes or 0.2% more than in the same period last year.
