OREANDA-NEWS. October 5, 2007. They inspected the plant, met with Elemash director Oleg Kryukov and the mayor of Elektrostal Andrey Sukhanov, visited the municipal infrastructures supported by Elemash. The Czech guests showed special interest in the parameters of TBCA-T fuel, to be supplied to Temelin, a nuclear power plant situated near the above settlements. TVEL vice presidents Vasily Konstantinov and Konstantin Sokolov assured them that the Russian fuel would help Temelin to solve its problems. The mayor of Tyn nad Vltavou Karel Hajek expressed hope that TVEL’s victory in a country showing increasingly pro-American moods means that the Russian fuel is really better than the American one.

The visit of the mayors is part of the campaign aimed at strengthening relations with fuel consumer states and informing the foreign public of the advantages of Russian nuclear technologies.

For many years already TVEL has been supplying fuel to a whole number of Czech nuclear facilities: Dukovany NPP, Nuclear Research Institute Rez and Czech Technical Institute in Prague. As a result of its victory in an international tender, in 2009 TVEL will start supplying fuel to both units of Temelin NPP. So, the partnership between Russian and Czech nuclear power engineers is actively developing.
