OREANDA-NEWS. Russian Railways has announced its results for the first three quarters of 2007 which saw the Company transport over 996 million tonnes of freight, 24.7 million tonnes or 2.5% more than in the same period last year, the press-service of Russian Railways reported.

High-revenue freight segments increased, rising by 3.5%, including cars (up by over 32%), grain, which rose by more than 23%, metal goods, up by over 18%, and ferrous metals, which saw an increase of 5%.

In September 2007, Russia's railways had loaded over 112.1 million tonnes, 270,000 tonnes or 0.2% more than in the same period last year.
