OREANDA-NEWS. October 9, 2007. The KMT Industrial Group has manufactured the pilot outside door sets for the new passenger coach of the Tver Carriage Works.

The new 255.00.00.000 model doors are designed for passenger cars designated 61-4440, 61-4447 and are suitable for speeds of up to 200 km/h.

The door set is made of two automatic side doors, two manually driven side doors and two automatic end walls. It is the fourth modification of outside doors integrating the expertise of Burevestnik, Nevsky Express, and Krasnaya Strela exploitation. The previous models are in service with local trains, whereas the new ones are designed for all-round CIS railways.

The new outside doors have the following advantages over the previous models:
The doors have better sealing, the door major loop is complete and the corners are vulcanised for lesser heat loss and full dust and water insulation.
The gauges “shutter jamming” are more delicate to avoid passenger jamming.
The drive assembly has up-to-date electric motors for better reliability.
The door mounting is simplified, involving fewer joints and adjustments.
Watertight electric jacks make the door more reliable.
The control system automatically monitors the door speed in any weather requiring no additional adjustment.
The door exploitation temperature is from –50°С to +50°С.

The doors’ qualification tests are to be complete by the end of 2007.
