OREANDA-NEWS. A trend of growing demand for Lada vehicles on the Russian market continued throughout 3Q 2007. According to Veles Capital experts, quarter finals showed sale of Lada cars amounting to over 187 thousand units, 13.6% above the results of 2Q and 55.2% higher than the results of 1Q. Compared to 3Q 2006, sales of Lada cars rose 20.1%.

As reported, the company plans selling 630 thousand cars in the domestic market for 2007. Hence, sales in 4Q should make up almost 200 thousand cars, i.e. 6% above the results of 3Q. Automobile business is influenced by season – the peak of sales comes at spring-summer, whereas fall and winter usually cannot show good growth rates of car sales. It is possible, the analysts surmise that AvtoVAZ will be able to sell about 80-100 thousand cars. Hence, year’s total sales are most likely to make up just over 530 thousand cars. Share of the market will shrink to 25-27%, confirming weakening positions of Russian auto-giant in the domestic market.
