OREANDA-NEWS. October 12, 2007. In January-September 2007, Sea Port of St. Petersburg handled 9.3 million tonnes (+9%, year-on-year), the company’s press center reports. First Stevedoring Company handled 3.99 million tonnes (-2%, year-on-year). The decrease should be attributed to export decrease and price rises at internal market of ferrous metal, which is the company’s major specialization. Second Stevedoring Company handled 1.58 million tonnes (+5.5%, year-on-year). Third Stevedoring Company handled 0.4 million tonnes (+5.8%, year-on-year), Forth Stevedoring Company – 3.34 million tonnes (+28%, year-on-year).

In the reported period the port handled 3.57 million tonnes of dry bulk cargo (including loose cargo), 4.47 million tonnes of packaged cargo and 3.72 million tonnes of metal.
