OREANDA-NEWS. Arcelor Mittal Executive Vice-President Michel Vyurt announced that  the company plans to expand production at its Ukrainian steelworks (former Krivorozhstal).  According to Vyurt, Arcelor Mittal Krivoi Rog < KSTL UZ USD2.97 Hold> will upgrade its facilities to international ecological standards  and increase steel production to 12mnt per year by 2012.

Currently, KSTL plans to rise crude steel output to 10mnt per year by  2010. In the views of Millennium Capital' analysts, the announced volume of 12mnt per year by 2012 seems to be realistic though they don't see the statement as a strict intention but just a strategic declaration.
