OREANDA-NEWS. October 30, 2007. Baltiysky Zavod OJSC (St. Petersburg) has delivered a refueller for servicing "Soyuz-ST" launchers in Guiana (S. America), the yard’s press center reports. The contract for production of a refueller was signed between Baltiysky Zavod shipyard (St. Petersburg) and Moscow-based design bureau for chemical engineering in January 2007.

The fueller is a metal container 12 meters x 2.5 meters x 2.5 meters. It is fitted with a fuel tank, a complicated system of pipes and hi-tech electronic equipment and a propulsion system.
Baltiysky Zavod shipyard specializes in construction of naval ships of different class and rank as well as vessels with nuclear-powered propulsion. Priority direction in the sector of commercial vessels is construction of large-capacity tankers for transportation of oil and gas from the regions of northern seas, chemical tankers, icebreakers, vessels for carrying general cargo and hi-tech supply vessels. Current backlog of orders for the period till 2009 exceeds $600 million including $30 million falling at military contracts. In August 2005 IST Group sold its 88.2% share of Baltiysky Zavod shipyard to United Industrial Corporation (OPK). The authorized capital of Baltiysky Zavod amounts to 264.440 million rubles divided into 1.100 million ordinary shares, each with a nominal value of 240.40 rubles.
