OREANDA-NEWS. The board of guardians of Ilim Pulp - a charitable foundation Garant - held a meeting in Koryazhma, during which it examined priority programmes related to social partnership between the city and its businesses for the year 2008, and selected the most important ones to be later included into the Fund’s general programme for the next year, the press service of Ilimgroup reported.

During the meeting, the Board examined a number of new projects related to various spheres of the city’s activities: culture, education, healthcare, sports, preschool and school training. In particular, the board recommended allocating means to purchase medical equipment for the children’s healthcare, an up-to-date dental set and software system, Aspon, which will allow the specialists to check up children and teenagers more efficiently. It is also planned to buy interactive tutorial systems for comprehensive schools.

Among the largest-scale measures, the board recommended supporting the long term programme involving preschool educational institutions for the years 2006 – 2010. The project was established upon the decisions taken by the city Duma and involves considerable investment in the reconstruction of the kindergartens. During the coming year, the programme based on participation interest is to receive a financing of RUB 35 million, RUB 15 mln of which will come from Ilim Pulp Garant. The money will help to bring preschool educational institution in compliance with modern requirements and standards, as well as to make up for the lack of kindergartens in the city.

The board of guardians involves representatives of all stakeholders, including local authorities, nonprofit organizations, and veterans. In the future, the selected programmes will be examined during the Fund’s general meeting, which will finally determine the programmes to be financed in 2008.
